BOSTON (AP) - The Boston Red Sox retired the No. 34 for slugger David Ortiz in a pregame ceremony before a packed Fenway Park. Ortiz is the 10th Red Sox player to be so honored. He had the shortest wait _ less than a year after he retired as one of the most productive offensive players in franchise history.

CROMWELL, Conn. (AP) - Jordan Spieth shot a 1-under 69 to maintain a one-stroke lead in the Travelers Championship. A windy afternoon kept anyone from catching him at TPC River Highlands.

BOSTON (AP) - Prosecutors are asking the highest court in Massachusetts to overturn a ruling that erased former NFL star Aaron Hernandez's murder conviction in the 2013 killing of a semi-professional football player. Hernandez's conviction in the fatal shooting of Odin Lloyd was voided after the former New England Patriots player killed himself in prison. Bristol District Attorney Thomas Quinn III filed the appeal with a Supreme Judicial Court justice Friday.

TORONTO (AP) - Drew Moor scored early and Sebastian Giovinco struck late and Toronto FC overcame a tight schedule turnaround to beat the New England Revolution 2-0. Toronto was coming off a 1-1 tie Wednesday night in Montreal in the first leg of the Canadian Championship final.

PHOENIX (AP) - Josh Jackson skipped out on a pre-draft workout with Boston at the last second and the move didn't sit too well with the Celtics. The Phoenix Suns, who ended up drafting the former Kansas star, may have had something to do with it. But they aren't saying what. The Suns were glad to get Jackson with the fourth pick of the NBA draft.

HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) - The first America's Cup sailed in the Bermuda Triangle could be over very soon. That is, unless Jimmy Spithill and Oracle Team USA have any comeback magic left when racing resumes during the weekend. Emirates Team New Zealand leads Oracle 3-0 in the first-to-seven match.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Austin Theriault raced to his third ARCA Racing Series victory of the season, holding off Zane Smith at Madison International Speedway. Driving Ken Schrader's No. 52 Federated Auto Parts Toyota on the half-mile track, Theriault padded his season points lead.
