Cat to lose leg after being shot by pellet gun

Posted: Updated:

A 1-year-old cat is facing a life with three legs after being shot with a pellet gun.

The cat was brought into the Dakin Humane Society when it was found in Easthampton.

Employees have nicknamed it Wild Horse.

The cat's left front leg is limp due to a fracture from being shot by a pellet gun. The pellet is still visible in the X-ray.

The Humane Society said Wild Horse will have to lose the leg in order to live a happier life.

The surgery, which will be performed on Sunday, will be paid for through the society's "buddy fund". The fund is money designed specifically for medical situations involving homeless animals.
