The Alabama Crimson Tide will face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for the national college football championship.
The matchup was officially announced Sunday night on ESPN when the final BCS rankings were released. The BCS ranking at the end of the season determines which two teams will play for the national championship at the Discover BCS National Championship Game in Miami, FL, on Jan. 7, 2013.
The BCS also announced the other four BCS matchups:

Stanford vs. Wisconsin

January 1, Miami, FL
Florida State vs. Northern Illinois
Allstate Sugar Bowl
January 2, New Orleans, LA

January 3, Glendale, AZ
Kansas State vs. Oregon

1) Notre Dame

4) Oregon
5) Kansas State
6) Stanford
7) Georgia

9) Texas A&M
10) South Carolina
The BCS rankings are determined by computer rankings, the AP Poll, and the USA Today Coaches' Poll. Those three are equally weighted in the BCS rankings.
