Angel tree in Ludlow remembers Newtown victims

Posted: Updated:

Ludlow's Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home has put up an angel tree to remember the 26 victims from Newtown, CT.

The 20-foot tree stands in the funeral home's parking lot off of Sewall Street.

Edward Mazur, Kapinos-Mazur's Funeral Home director, told CBS 3 they're welcoming anyone to visit or decorate the tree with ornaments or messages.

On Tuesday, that's what some Ludlow residents did.

"I think that every person that comes and puts something on this tree, or just visits, is showing the families of Connecticut that we're behind them and care for them," said Steve Sawyer of Ludlow.

The tree will be illuminated 24 hours a day throughout the holiday season.
