Northampton school writes safety pledge

Posted: Updated:

The Northwestern District Attorney's Office is investigating a school threat while defending how they are conducting it.

On Dec. 21, students were asked by Northampton officials to write a safety pledge two days after a note was found inside the school's bathroom.

D.A. officials told CBS 3 that the contents of the note suggest similar comparisons to the Sandy Hook Massacre in Connecticut. They added that the written pledges from students were reasonable and legal because of the severity of the threat.

An American Civil Liberties union lawyer says constitutional concerns are elevating because of these statements.
