A Maricopa man was arrested after one person was shot in a road rage incident Saturday, police said.
Joseph Yee was charged with two counts aggravated assault and three counts of endangerment.
Officers said the incident involved three vehicles, including Yee's and started around the area of State Route 347 and the Gila River Bridge. A husband and wife were traveling in two separate cars.
Police said Yee was tailgating the lead vehicle, which was occupied by the wife of the third vehicle involved.
Her husband passed Yee's vehicle and stopped in the middle lane of John Wayne Parkway to confront him, officers said.
The pair got into an argument and a passenger in the husband's vehicle was shot in the right leg above the knee with a .38 caliber revolver, police said.
No other weapons were found and a check of Yee's criminal background came back clear with no previous criminal history, officers said.
The victim was taken to Maricopa Medical Center and is expected to be OK.
Alcohol is suspected as a factor, police said.
