A lawyer on the Chardon shooting case confirms that a plea deal is in the works for accused shooter TJ Lane. But, Attorney Ian Friedman adds, the deal is "contingent on Lane's competency evaluation."
"The parties are working on plea negotiations at this time" said Friedman, attorney for TJ Lane.
The 18-year old Lane is accused in the Feb. 27, 2012, shooting rampage at Chardon High School.
Three students were killed but six were shot.
Lane is charged with three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault for the student snipped in the ear.
