Posted: Updated:

On Monday, Bay Path College in Longmeadow was visited by Rep. Richard Neal.

To honor National Women's History Month, Neal spoke to a legal studies class about the history of women in politics and his longstanding support of females in political leadership roles.

A couple of Neal's female staffers also joined in on the conversation to talk about their experience working on his political campaign and their community outreach work throughout the Pioneer Valley.

College faculty told CBS 3 they hope these young women are inspired by this open dialogue.

"Giving our students the opportunity to dialogue and ask questions is one of the most powerful things that you can do in terms of helping them see what they could become … what they might aim for in terms of their own lives and their own professions," said Melissa Morriss-Olson, vice president of Academic Affairs at Bay Path College.

This Friday, Bay Path College will continue its celebration of Women's History Month this with a women's leadership conference at the MassMutual Center, featuring special celebrity guest Queen Latifah.
