A baby in the neonatal intensive care unit was the guest of honor at a very special wedding at Randall Children's Hospital.
Baby Liam was born prematurely after 28 weeks. He weighed just 2 pounds.
His parents, Wendi Smith and Fernando Abba, met in Argentina when she moved there from southeast Portland for work. She traveled back to the U.S. to get ready for the arrival of their son.
She was 26 weeks pregnant at that point and Liam arrived just two weeks later at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.
Liam is now 37 weeks old and weighs 5 pounds. His parents decided to tie the knot in the Terrace Garden at the hospital Sunday so Liam could be in attendance.
Family and friends were also there for the ceremony, along with Liam's nurse.
It was the first wedding at the new home of Randall Children's Hospital.
