Two escape unharmed from Chicopee house fire

Two people escaped their Chicopee home Sunday night after it caught on fire.

Firefighters responded to 36 Melvin Street just before 8:30 p.m.

When they arrived on scene, smoke could be seen coming from the roof.

The fire was quickly contained.

The two people inside the home when the fire broke out escaped unharmed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
