ASU volleyball unanimous pick to win SIAC

The Albany State Lady Rams volleyball team is once again the pick to win the SIAC title.

ASU was unanimously selected as the preseason favorites to win the conference by the SIAC coaches Wednesday.

Two Lady Ram seniors, middle hitter Jillian Anderson and outside hitter Ashley Johnson, were named to the preseason All-Conference First Team.

Anderson recorded a .329 hitting percentage with 325 kills in 2012. She also led the team with 77 blocks.

Johnson had a .257 hitting percentage with 418 kills.

ASU finished second in 2012 behind Clark Atlanta, who is selected to finish runner-up in 2013.

The 2013 SIAC Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament will be played November 20-22 at Albany State's HPER Gymnasium.
