Toledo driver busted with cocaine during OVI stop

FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Toledo man is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized nearly 29 grams of cocaine during a traffic stop in Findlay early Sunday.

Troopers stopped a 2013 Dodge Avenger with Illinois registration for a turn signal and driving left-of-center violation on U.S. Route 224 at Interstate 75 around 3:30 a.m. Upon contact with the driver, troopers noticed signs of impairment. Criminal indicators were observed and a Hancock County Sheriff's drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle.

A probable cause search revealed cocaine, worth $2,420, inside the center console.

The driver, Alexjandro Williams, 43, of Toledo, was incarcerated in the Hancock County Jail. He has been charged with possession of cocaine, a first-degree felony, as well as OVI.
