It is called the Massachusetts Oncology Services at Holyoke Medical Center.

The center will provide oncology care in an outpatient setting.

Dr. Alan Stark, the board-certified radiation oncologist for the center, said with new technology, the center hosts a number of treatments for patients who battle various forms of the disease.

"We treat most forms of cancer with radiation therapy. We use high energy X-rays to either cure or palliate a variety of cancers. We treat cancer of the throat, head, neck, lung and prostate primarily," said Dr. Stark.

Services will be provided Monday through Friday.

It will also be open 24 hours for emergencies.
