LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A high school student who suffered a brain injury during a football game two weeks ago is out of the hospital and back home.
Jacob Quaife suffered a series of hits in Waggener's game against Moore High School on September 13 to which doctors attribute his brain injury. As a result, he underwent brain surgery at Kosair Children's Hospital.
Quaife is a senior at Waggener. He plays running back and safety for the Waggener Wildcats. His mom said she hopes Jacob can one day get back to the game he loves.
His mother also said while he's doing very well, he is not expected back at school this week.
