PIKE COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The inmate mistakenly released from jail in Pike County is back in custody. Douglas Stevenson was found early Wednesday morning in Kenner, Louisiana.

Stevenson was sentenced a month ago to 50 years in prison for kidnapping a woman at gunpoint and raping her.

Chief Deputy Steve Rushing says the man's brother, Fernandes Stevenson, who was also in jail, was supposed to be released Monday after serving 21 days on a drug court contempt warrant.

However Douglas pretended to be Fernandes and was released instead.

Douglas Stevenson is now in the Jefferson parish jail.
