In two different incidents, police made four arrests and took three guns off the streets.

It all happened in a matter of hours for the Holyoke Police Department.

The first incident took place at an apartment complex on Cabot Street.

Police told CBS 3 that they got the call of a disturbance with guns just after 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

When they arrived, they were able to trap three suspects, who they said were assaulting residents in one apartment.

Police arrested Julio Romero, 29, of Springfield; Jonathan Britton, 21, of Ludlow; and Domienique Gomez, 21, of Springfield.

Police said Romero and Britton both possessed semi-automatic handguns, and neither had licenses for them.

All three will be arraigned in Holyoke District Court on Monday.

Then, around 2 a.m. on Saturday, police told CBS 3 that they responded to a report of shots fired near the intersection of Vernon and Temple streets.

When they arrived, there were three men sitting in a parked car.

A search of the car turned up a .38-caliber handgun.

Jose Rodriguez, 34, of Springfield, who claimed to be the owner of the car and gun, was arrested.

He is charged with having a firearm without a license and breach of the peace.
