Western Mass towns collecting food for local pantries

Posted: Updated:

Several towns in Western Mass are holding food drives to help fill local food banks for the holidays.

Students from Ware Middle School collected 3,930 canned goods and food supplies for the food pantry at the Trinity Episcopal Church.

The students loaded up a box truck and delivered the food to the pantry's Park Street location Tuesday morning.

In Longmeadow, the high school kicked off their annual week-long Selectmen's Cup Food Drive.

They are collecting food and canned goods that will be brought to local pantries next Tuesday.

The school will also be collecting donations at their Thanksgiving day game.
