Vigil held for murder victim in Henrico

Posted: Updated:

An emotional night, as family and friends gathered to honor a man murdered last Friday in Henrico.

A candlelight vigil wrapped up a few hours ago, held near the crime scene just off of Glenside Drive in the 7000 block of Hunt Club Lane.

Last Friday, officers found the body of 25 year-old, Alex Perkins at an apartment complex after reports of gun fire.

Tonight we spoke to his family.

"For him to be gone is very very hard for us, it's tragic because he's the type of person that stuff like this just don't happen to. He's loved 100% and whoever did this, they need to come forward", says Perkins' aunt, Shae Ellis.

We're told Perkins worked for Tyson Foods. Right now police are still looking for his killer.

If you have any information call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. You don't have to give your name.
