A Valley family has the Phoenix Fire Department to thank after it stepped in to help their 11-year-old son.
He had to be airlifted off Camelback Mountain about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday after falling about 25 feet from a trail while on a hike with his two older brothers.
The Phoenix Fire Department said the boy was racing down the mountain attempting to beat his brothers when he fell.
He was taken to the hospital for injuries to his head and face. He is expected to be OK.
