PHOENIX (CBS5) -
Police believe one man is behind a pair of U.S. Bank branch robberies inside different Safeway stores in the Valley within the past two weeks.
The most recent robbery occurred on Jan. 4 at a U.S. Bank branch inside a Safeway store at 1159 W. Chandler Blvd. in Chandler.
Police said the robber held up a demand note and told the teller he was armed and demanded money.
Officers say they feel the suspect is the same person who robbed another U.S. Bank branch at 4005 E. Chandler Blvd. in Phoenix on Christmas Eve. He used the same method of operation. The suspect fled with cash in hand.
The suspect is described as 5'11" tall and has a beard and mustache.
During both robberies he wore a black baseball cap and motocross-style gloves.
People with information about the fugitives are asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS OR 480-TESTIGO.
