Police investigate fatal crash that kills two in Pittsfield

The Pittsfield Police Department Accident Investigation Unit continues to investigate the fatal crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon in front of Pittsfield High School.

Both occupants of the vehicle, Ernest A. Duck Jr., 37, and Tariq Salley, 34, were pronounced dead Tuesday night as a direct result of the crash. All possible causes of the crash, whether mechanical or medical, are being explored to determine the cause of the crash, police said.

Police received numerous witness complaints regarding the erratic operation of the vehicle prior to the accident, according to police officials.

The car, a 2013 white Nissan Altima, was reportedly crashed into a wall in front of the school located at 300 East St. just before 3 p.m.
