Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield will hire temporary nurses Monday as nearly 190 members of their nursing staff will be striking.
Baystate Health officials say they'll have to bring in around 70 nurses from a temp agency to keep services running normal Monday.
The striking nurses will be off the job for 24 hours starting at 7 a.m.
The strike comes after Baystate declared an impasse in contract negotiations, putting into effect changes in the nurses' contracts, like the way overtime is paid.
CBS 3 reached out to the Massachusetts Nurses Association and are awaiting comment.
Baystate officials say they are forced to bring in temporary nurses because of a high number of flu patients in the hospital.
They also tell CBS 3 that anyone with an elective surgery scheduled for Monday can call to have it rescheduled.
CBS 3 will have more details on CBS 3 Springfield News at 11.
