Springfield city officials have closed school for Thursday as the city prepares for snow. All after school activities will be canceled. Officials announced City Hall will be closed as well.
There is a city wide parking ban in effect from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. From 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. there is no parking on the even side of streets.
City officials are urging residents to keep roads clear for plows, and emergency crews when the storm hits. They are also reminding residents to clear hydrants around the neighborhood, as they are still working to clear some from last week's storm.
The city said they will likely address post storm clean up and the possibility of canceling school Friday on Thursday night.
