A 27-year-old Agawam man was involved in a road rage incident with another driver and ended up with a gunshot wound in the stomach, according to Detective Lt. Richard Light of the Agawam Police Department.
The road rage incident occurred near O'Brien's Corner. The violence began after the suspect stopped his silver or gold Honda in front of the victim's car near Maple and Bridge streets just after midnight Thursday, Light said.
The victim, who was driving with a friend, then got out of his car. The passenger of the Honda got out of that vehicle and fired two shots from a small caliber revolver, Light said.
One bullet struck the victim in the abdomen, Light said.
The victim was transported to Baystate Medical Center. He was expected to recover.
