A Connecticut family will come to Springfield Saturday to try and bring attention back to an unsolved murder.
Julian Cartie, 22, was shot and killed in downtown Springfield five years ago and the murder has gone unsolved.
Family and friends of Cartie will hold a memorial vigil at the spot of the shooting, the corner of State and Main streets.
The family says the vigil is an effort to bring the unsolved homicide back into the public eye, hoping someone will come forward with information that could identify the killer.
Cartie was a member of the Army National Guard.
He was spending the night at downtown clubs when a passenger of a blue Hyundai got out of the car and shot him three times then drove off.
The vigil is at 5 p.m.
