Court documents are revealing that Chicopee murder victim Amanda Plasse had been a victim of a break-in just several weeks before she was found murdered in her School Street apartment in 2011.
CBS 3 Springfield media partner MassLive and The Republican fought to get those reports made public.
The documents reveal that it was DNA evidence that ultimately led Chicopee police to arrest suspect Dennis Rosa Roman in connection with Plasse's killing.
The documents don't reveal why it took more than two years for police to arrest Roman.
Those documents also reveal that Plasse knew the person who broke into her apartment and had planned to meet up with him during the month leading up to her murder.
Roman has pleaded not guilty in her murder.
