A dozen people were forced from a Springfield home when a fire broke out there late Wednesday morning.
Just after 11:30 a.m., flames began showing from the upper section of the multi-family building at 360 Hancock St.
Two people were living on the second floor of the house, and there were 10 people on the first floor.
All were able to escape the building safely.
The Red Cross was called in to assist those who were forced to evacuate.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire or the amount of damage caused to the home.
