PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Costco is coming to Perrysburg, and if everything moves forward as planned, some big changes will have to be made first.

Costco officials have submitted the final site plan application to the city planning commission.

Negotiations continue between the store and Columbia Transmission regarding an underground gas line at the potential site. Planning and Zoning Administrator Brodin Walters says the gas line will likely be abandoned in the future and connected with a rerouted line, but that's not the only change.

Several houses would need to be removed, and new right-turn lanes would be added off of Route 25 and Eckel Junction.

"Each thing individually isn't significant, but when you lengthen lanes, add lanes, widen things, change the timing of movement, all those things come together to significantly enhance the vehicular experience of going to that intersection," Walters said.

The final plan could be approved March 27, but the public can weigh in on the project at a public hearing on March 13 at 6 p.m.
