A fundraiser was held in Springfield Thursday for the Allison Dwarska Scholarship Fund. The fund was started in memory of 17-year-old Allison Dwarska who was killed in a car crash in Nov. 27, 2013.
The sold out event was held at the St. Catherine of Siena church. Organizers said tickets were sold out in three weeks and they had to move the venue to a larger hall because of the overwhelming response.
The hall was decked out in purple which was her favorite color. There was a huge raffle with hundreds of donated items. Organizers said everything for the event was donated and all proceeds would go to the scholarship fund.
Donations for the scholarship fund can be made to the Allison Dwarska Scholarship Fund at People's Bank on 1900 Wilbraham Rd. in Springfield.
