Holyoke mayor to hold special meeting addressing Geriatric Authority

Posted: Updated:

Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse will postpone his annual State of the City address originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 18 to instead focus on ongoing concerns with the troubled Holyoke Geriatric Authority.

Morse has called a special meeting for Tuesday night with city councilors to update them on the latest with the authority.

Officials there are running out of money to pay employees and buy food for patients.

They are now working on closing the facility down.

Tuesday night's meeting will be at 6 p.m. in City Council chambers.

Stay with CBS 3 Springfield for the latest out of that meeting.
