Young women in the city had the chance to learn a little about life on Saturday, as they took part in the first She Got H.E.R.S. conference.
The event was held at the Springfield Central Library on State Street.
H.E.R.S. stands for health, empowerment, resiliency and self-worth.
Throughout the day, different speakers covered topics on everything from fitness and healthcare to bouncing back from tough times.
Organizers said there is one aspect they hope the attendees take away from the day.
"I want them to take away all aspects of the H.E.R.S., but I think that the biggest one is self-worth, because if you understand your worth, then everything else just kind of flows second to that," said Latoya Bosworth.
There was no charge to attend Saturday's meeting.
Organizers hope to make the conference an annual event.
