This weekend marked the first ever Maple Weekend across the Bay State, as numerous maple producers took part, including the North Hadley Sugar Shack.
This weekend's event showcased a variety of products made by Massachusetts maple producers.
The Sugar Shack offered sugaring tours all day long and even included samples of some of the maple products.
The owner of the Shack said that the unusually cold weather has made preparations for Maple Weekend very hectic.
"It's kind of been like a roller coaster start to our sugar season," said Joe Boisvert. "It seems like we'll have a sap run for a day, maybe a day and a half, then it's frozen for three or four days and then another run and another hard freeze. It looks like the middle to the end of this week, Mother Nature might finally let go of this winter."
Massachusetts is home to nearly 300 maple sugar producers.
Last year 63,000 gallons of maple syrup were produced.
