Springfield police arrested a drug dealer selling heroin following a foot chase in the Six Corners area Thursday morning.

Detectives learned through an investigation the 22-year-old, Joshua "Slim" Ortiz, would sell heroin to customers who would could call him on his cell phone. He would deliver drugs to Cedar Street, James Street, Brigham Street and other roads in the Six Corners vicinity, according to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney.

"Slim observed the approaching detectives and a foot chase was on," Delaney said, adding that the dealer ditched bags of heroin, cocaine and marijuana. "Slim was a walking illegal pharmacy."

Detectives confiscated 100 bags of heroin, a large bag of cocaine and marijuana and $315 in cash, Delaney said. Police also confiscated his Samsung phone he used to arrange neighborhood sales, he said.
