Virginia State Police are on the scene of an overturned tractor-trailer on Interstate 295 northbound at Pole Green Road, Exit 38, in Hanover County.

At approximately 3:30 a.m. this morning, state police responded to the scene after the driver of a 2006 Peterbuilt tractor-trailer ran off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected causing the tractor-trailer to overturn onto the tractor-trailers passenger side.

The driver was wearing his safety belt. The driver suffered minor injuries, and was transported by ambulance to VCU Medical Center.

The trailer was loaded with thousands of pounds of oranges, according to State Police spokesperson, Sergeant Thomas J. Molnar. The oranges spilled out of the trailer and onto the roadway.

All lanes of I-295 northbound have reopened.
