Students and faculty from Westfield State lined up for some new haircuts on Sunday afternoon.
More than a dozen people sat down and shaved their heads, all in the name of fighting childhood cancer.
It was the school's first Kid's Cancer Buzz-Off.
It was organized by the Class of 2016, and the money raised will go to pediatric cancer patients, their families, as well as cancer research.
Organizers said the event came about from seeing a similar event held at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
Among the participants were two women who had their heads shaved.
As a whole, the group raised a total of $6,200 from Sunday's event.
