Massachusetts drivers will soon be able to show they are Boston strong every time they take to the road.
Gov. Deval Patrick signed a bill Friday morning creating a license plate that includes the phrase "Boston strong."
The specialty license plate will cost $50, with proceeds after administrative costs going to One Fund Boston to provide financial assistance to victims of the Boston marathon bombings.
"It's a marvelous gesture to acknowledge what we all went through, and a celebration of Boston strong is a tremendous celebration of community," Patrick said.
In addition to the words "Boston strong," the bill calls for the plate to include a design showing support for those most affected by the bombing.
State officials are working with the One Fund to create the design and fabrication of the plate.
