One person killed in ultralight aircraft crash

Posted: Updated:

Pima County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating an ultralight aircraft crash.

According to Deputy Tracy Suitt, one person has died. No one else was on board. Officials got the call about the crash around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night.

It was found near Green Valley off Wilmot Road and Sahuarita Road. Deputies started their search last night, but couldn't find it until it was daylight.

The ultralight was burned out, said Suitt.

Officials said the crash was reported by an anonymous person using a phone that was purchased in Mexico.

Suitt said the crash happened a couple of days earlier, but it was not reported immediately.
