A 54-year-old teacher from Covington, Ky. wants to be a cheerleader for the Cincinnati Bengals and she's not letting her age get in the way.
The Ben-Gals are holding auditions Monday night and Brenda Gold plans to show off her skills. The math teacher from the School for Creative and Performing Arts said she's been a dancer all her life and told FOX19, "I used to be an aerobics instructor and I'm a very enthusiastic person so I thought, why not a challenge?"
The former dancer said preparing for the audition has given her an extra boost of confidence and she has received nothing but support from those around her. However, many people might be wondering, why now?
"One day I was at a game, I looked down and thought 'that looks like fun,'" she said.
Gold told FOX19 that she works out at least four days a week to prepare for the audition and said the Ben-Gals have been extremely helpful in getting her in shape.
Auditions are at 6 o'clock tonight and cuts will be made directly after. Gold said she's excited for the challenge.
