A domestic dispute and stabbing sent Greenfield schools into a temporary lockdown Thursday morning.
Just before 11, Greenfield police were called to Mill street, where they found a man recovering from a stab wound to the chest.
He was rushed to the hospital as police scoured the area, searching for the suspect.
Schools were locked down as a precaution.
Shortly after noon, police were called to Mill Street once again where they found 20-year-old Jeremy Haselton, of 185 Main St. Northfield. He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), and domestic assault and battery, according to Greenfield police.
Haselton is being held on a $25,000 bail set by Clerk Magistrate Ken Chaffee.
The victim is expected to survive.
