3-year-old girl with leukemia leads prom march

Posted: Updated:

A 3-year-old girl who's battling cancer got a special honor Friday night when she led Estacada High School's Prom Grand March.

Audrey Hohman was diagnosed with leukemia last August, and is now in remission.

Like many little girls, Audrey wants to be a princess, and Friday night she got that chance.

When the lights came up on the stage, the crowd gathered for the Prom Grand March saw Audrey escorting Senior Princess Meaghan Thwratt.

Meaghan, a friend of Audrey's family, says she's been inspired by Audrey's strength, and she thought the girl deserved some special recognition.

"I told her that she inspires me and that I want to be like her whenever I grow up," said Thwratt.

Many people in Estacada have attended a number of fundraisers in Audrey's honor, and Audrey says she appreciates all the support.
