Stray gunfire causes car, house fire in Springfield

Springfield fire officials say stray gunfire hit an SUV shortly after 5:30 Monday afternoon, hitting the car's electrical components and sparking a fire. 

Springfield police say it all happened after a shootout between the drivers of two cars. 

Firefighters responded to 1563 Dwight Street after reports of the fire there. 

Fire officials say the man inside the SUV at the time is unharmed and the house sustained $5,000 in damage.

Police say no one was hit in the gunfire and no arrests have been made yet.
