A 3-year-old girl was reunited with her family after she was found wandering alone in nearby the Federal Court and Worthington Street early this morning.
A concerned citizen saw the girl walking alone at about 5 a.m., and stayed with her until officers arrived, according to police.
Meanwhile, family members contacted police shortly before 7 a.m. to report the child missing. They said the little girl apparently left her apartment through an unlocked door while they slept.
The girl was taken to the hospital for evaluation. She was in good condition, and appeared to be well cared for.
The Department of Children and Families is investigating the incident.
