Two volunteer firefighters were injured, including one who was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, after the fire truck in which they were riding overturned Friday in Rutherford County.

The crash was reported along Kittrell Halls Hill Road.

The truck was responding to a fire at a home on Halls Hill Pike at the time of the crash.

One firefighter, Brandon Marlow, was trapped inside the truck for about 45 minutes and had to be extricated. He was transported to the hospital by medical helicopter.

Another firefighter, Brenton Tyring, was also treated for injuries.

Both men are expected to be OK.

The fire they were responding to is being called suspicious, but further information has not been released.

The fire destroyed the home. Six people lived there, including four children, and they'll now have to find a new place to stay.
