Hampden police and officials with the state fire marshal's office had to respond to Thornton Burgess Middle School on Tuesday morning after allegations of threats on social media toward the school.
It all happened as the school's eighth graders were having a stepping up ceremony.
School officials say they were notified of some "concerning online activity" being posted by students who weren't at the ceremony.
Police were called in and questioned those students.
Parents were called before the assembly started and were notified that it was safe.
Officials with the state fire marshal say they investigated a report of bombs in the school, but gave it the all-clear.
Police provided extra security at the ceremony as a precaution.
