Holyoke stabbing victim released from hospital

Posted: Updated:

The emergency room at Holyoke Hospital was put on lockdown for a while Saturday evening after a man walked into the ER with multiple stab wounds around 9 p.m.

Police told CBS 3 that the lockdown was lifted after the man was taken to Baystate Medical Center due to the severity of his injuries.

Before being transferred, police said the victim was able to give a vague description of his attacker and said the stabbing happened outside of a barber shop on Maple Street.

Police said they have a person of interest in the case, but have not yet identified that person as an official suspect.

Police have not released the victim's name yet, but did confirm he was 26 years old.
