Police are investigating multiple stabbings that took place within hours of each other overnight.
The first happened shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday in the area of 1341 Main St., which is directly across from One Financial Plaza.
According to CBS 3 media partner Mass Live and The Republican, that incident turned out to be a double-stabbing.
Police told CBS 3 that one of the victims, a man, was seriously injured and rushed into surgery at Baystate Medical Center.
Police cautioned that the second stabbing on Main Street, near the intersection with Court Street, may have been the result of a separate fight.
The incident happened less than 30 minutes after the Star Spangled Springfield fireworks display ended at nearby Riverfront Park.
Another stabbing incident occurred in the area of Stearns Square shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Police said that the victim was found in a parking lot on Worthington Street, with a stab wound in his back.
According to police, they are searching for a Hispanic male suspect, between the ages of 35 and 40 years old, who was five-feet, eight-inches tall and had his hair pulled back in a pony tail.
The Springfield Police Department's detective bureau continues to investigate all three incidents.
