For the second year, UMass, Amherst will pay the town $80,000 to expand ambulance services for the fall and spring semesters.
UMass officials tell CBS 3 that the money will cover staffing to put two more ambulances out on the roads during the busiest times.
With more than 38,000 residents in town, and an additional 27,000 students on campus, ambulances can get tied up easily.
The money is on top of a $363,000 agreement reached between UMass and the town back in 2012.
