Many took to the city streets on Sunday to enjoy the sights and sounds of the La Familia Puerto Rican Parade.
With music, dancing and, of course, plenty of pride, the parade weaved through the streets, much to the delight of residents from near and far.
Local organizations and groups marched to show their support towards Puerto Rican heritage.
Organizers and residents said it was the perfect day to be out and about.
"People come from Boston, New York and Puerto Rico," said Diosdado Lopez, president of La Familia Hispana. "It's a great day."
"I'm from Puerto Rico, and we've been living here for the past 26 years," said Holyoke resident Marisol Fontanez. "It's going great. We love it. We're looking forward to it. We're on time here, and we're waiting to hear the noises, the music, the culture, the dresses and all the activities we have."
The Puerto Rican parade ended with a large festival at Springdale Park that included live entertainment throughout the afternoon.
