A Seattle man trying to kill a spider accidentally lit his house on fire, officials said Tuesday.
Seattle firefighters responded to the Arbor Heights neighborhood in west Seattle.
It appears the man used a spray paint can and a lighter in an effort to kill a spider in the wall.
It's not clear whether he succeeded in killing the spider, but he did manage to cause $60,000 in damage to his home.
The Red Cross provided temporary shelter for the man and a woman who live there. No one was injured.
