Medical services may soon be provided to a portion of the Berkshires once again after a federal bankruptcy judge approved the sale of the former North Adams Regional Hospital on Thursday.
According to our media partners at Masslive and The Republican, Berkshire Health Systems will buy the former hospital for $4 million.
The facility was forced to shut down in March because of financial problems, leaving 40,000 Berkshire County residents without nearby care, and 500 employees without jobs.
It's been running as a satellite emergency center since then.
There's no word yet on when full services may be restored.
